The vast landscapes of her rural Idaho surroundings inspired Sara Rogers to turn her artist’s eye toward painting. She was inspired by the big wide-open spaces, filled with ever-changing colors. She was drawn to the canvas to create funky, impulsive artworks. A self-taught painter, Sara is still exploring her own talent and experimenting with texture and color – sometimes incorporating common household items such as stamps, letters or even a tape measure into collage-style pieces. Sara paints most often in the kitchen, the center of her family’s life, and rarely in the summer when there is too much activity to remain indoors.
